Santa Loves Quorn

Santa Claus graphic by Violentz It is official … Santa Claus loves Quorn

Well my six-year-old boy does, who, upon returning from school, has been dressing up in his Santa suit since the 1st December!  Last night’s sausage rolls were “brilliant and ace” … Quorn Sausage rolls of course, brushed with a little milk and browned in a medium oven.  We had them with mulled wine (and warm blackcurrant for ‘Santa’) as we put up the Christmas tree in front of our toasty fire.

The day before, our little ‘Master Christmas’ had been on a school trip and insisted on ham sandwiches. We prepared Quorn ham-style slices with a sprinkling of grated cheese on brown bread. Even as I was cutting them up I was tempted to eat them myself and make more. Delicious!

And Christmas Dinner? Oh, I can hardly wait! My favourite meal anytime in the year is a Sunday roast (I have stuffing instead of meat - it’s very, very tasty). So on the big day I really push the boat out.  This year, instead of my normal Quorn chicken style roast (which of course I can save for Boxing Day), I have opted for a Quorn mini beef-style suet pudding, I simply wrap Quorn cocktail sausages in  Quorn ham-style slices, brush with olive oil and place next to my veggie roast potatoes in the oven for a few minutes. Pile on the steamed veggies and - heaven!

Even suppertime, (assuming there’s any tummy room left) is delicious.  My Quorn turkey style and stuffing slices are divine with crusty French bread, pickled onions, pickled walnuts, cranberry sauce and a few crunchy ready salted crisps. At this point even ‘Santa’ leaves his new toys for a while to munch his way through a few tasty morsels.

Thank you once again Quorn, for providing a range of products which makes us veggies really feel like we are not missing out! Much as I have enjoyed the cauliflower cheese and Mediterranean vegetables which have been offered as the veggie options in the past … they never really did go with sprouts and gravy!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!
