Takeaways are the ultimate in fast food. It’s been a long day, you definitely can’t be bothered cooking, so what could be more tempting than fish and chips, or Chinese, or Indian? They’re all tasty, but full of unhealthy stuff! Not only is take-away food full of fat and grease, it’s often full of salt or, worse still, monosodium glutamate. Although take-aways make for great occasional treats, why not try some of these easy alternatives? They’re just as quick and just as tasty!
Instead of fish and chips, why not give a Quorn fillet a go – take your pick between the Crispy Fillet or the tasty Garlic and Herb Fillet for added zing. Instead of chips, give potato wedges a try for a healthier alternative, and petit pois instead of mushy peas! If you’re more of a jumbo sausage fan or a chicken nugget lover, Quorn has great, low-fat alternatives for those, too!
For an alternative to a greasy Chinese take-away, why not use Quorn Beef Style Pieces to make your own chow mein or curry? For a really quick and flavoursome meal, just throw some pieces and veg of your choice into a wok, splash over some soy sauce, sprinkle in a few chilli flakes (or a lot of them!) and throw in some pickled ginger. Once cooked through, serve with your preferred noodles and presto! Healthy, fast Chinese food.
Perhaps the easiest take away alternative is Quorn’s Curry and Rice ready meal – a delicious tikka ready in just minutes, with a fraction of the fat and grease of a take-away! Sure, you’ve still got to do the washing up, but the health benefits outweigh the extra suds!
Perhaps you’ve discovered your own quick meals in lieu of an indulgent take-away – feel free to share and maybe we can rustle up enough for quick, easy, healthy food for every day of the week!

The Quorn product selection in the UK is amazing and delicious. Why are we being deprived of it in the US?
I agree! The selection in the UK makes me want to move there. The new Turk’y Burger is delicious if you haven’t tried it. Let’s hope the new products keep coming the US.
