New Quorn packaging is hot to trot

Quorn chicken style pieces… but you’ll still find us in the chilled aisle!  A bright new logo with images of sunshine, our vibrant new packaging has hit the shelves this month!  Although the old packaging has been a familiar friend for over 4 years, after speaking to lots of existing Quorn consumers, we felt the time had come to refresh our look.

Now, our veggie fans are the mainstay of our success, we wouldn’t be where we are without you!  As many of you already know, Quorn is a great healthy alternative to meat for loads of family favourite recipes so we’re hoping that the new packaging will serve as an open invitation to all to give Quorn a go.

Believe it or not, there are more than one hundred Quorn products out there and to help all our consumers find the product they want, we’ve also colour coded the packaging.  For example, we’ve used green for meal makers like our Quorn breaded goujons, yellow for ingredients like Quorn mince, purple for ready meals like Quorn cottage pie and turquoise for deli items, like the Quorn mini sausage rolls.

Have you come across the new packaging yet?  We’d love to hear what you think so make sure you post your comments here

Your vegan fans? I’d love to be a vegan fan, but as far as I’m aware Quorn isn’t suitable for vegans - this is confirmed in your FAQs. What is Lucy talking about??

Please remove the egg whites and the milk products!

    Thank you!

Hi Dale - thanks for your feedback, we’re always keen to hear what our consumers think. We spoke to loads of Quorn consumers as research for our new designs and came up with a fresh new look which we hope will encourage more people to give Quorn a go.

The high quality of the Quorn products you’ve come to love stays the same of course!

The packaging is OK but what is disappointing is the amount of packaging used. Way too much and unecessary.

I bought the popcorn quorn, which used to be my favourite quorn product. The new packaging is fine, however the product tastes different. It tasted like actual chicken and was so disgusting I couldn’t eat more than one price. If the recipe was altered you should change it back. I will not purchase this product again.

The new design is great, but I would suggest Quorn changes the information about the packaging. It is very frustrating to read ‘plastic - can be recycled’, when the packaging used by other companies has the proper numerical coding on it. I suspect this is because Quorn trays are mixed plastics. If so, I would urge that the company introduces homogeneous plastics for packaging.

    Hello,
Lovely to see so many new products, but what has happened to the old Quorn roast that had the sweet potato and lentils in it? I haven’t seen it lately and we all really love it for Sunday lunch with all the usual roast dinner trimmings. Please don’t say it has been discontinued.

Hi Susan - I’m afraid it is so! We took a decision to discontinue the Quorn vegetable roast as sales simply did not meet our goals. We always love to hear that consumers enjoy our products and with over 100 items in the Quorn range we hope you’ll still be able to enjoy a great Quorn product on Sundays.

Yeah the new logo is great- I like the design, but I’m very disappointed with all the plastic packaging that cannot be recycled. Why not use card boxes or corn starch plastics? I’d have thought that many vegetarians are also keen to support good envioronmental practices- lots of your packaging does just not fit with this.

Hi Georgina - we agree this is important and we’re currently working very hard to resolve to this. We’ve already made some important changes to our packaging to ensure that all our paperboard, such as sleeves or cartons are all recyclable and from carefully managed, renewable forests. The plastic items we use are made from virgin material as they are in direct contact with food but you should be able to recycle items such as polypropylene trays and polyester & polyethylene film - just check your local recycling amenities.
