With Easter but a distant memory and wishing the sun had made an appearance, our only hope is that summer is looming, giving us a promise of lazy days in the garden relaxing, eating alfresco or days out with the children having a picnic in the park. Either way I want to spend as little time in the kitchen as possible.
To help with this, Quorn™ are launching this summer a new range of Mini Snacks, which consist of mini savoury eggs, mini sausage rolls, mini Cornish style pasties and mini fillets.
The first in the mini snack range I have seen and already sampled many times, are the Quorn mini savoury eggs and I am a big fan of these little wonders. They are so quaffable; I have a tendency to eat 1 or 2 as I am putting them out. Quorn have now gone further and the old adage rings true, great things come in small sizes. The mini sausage rolls, mini Cornish style pasties and mini fillets are bite size, great tasting finger food, suited to a party platter, picnic hamper or straight from the fridge for that in-between meal nibble and not to forget they are great for the school lunch box also. The mini fillets in BBQ and Tandoori flavour are at home stuffed in pitta bread or a tortilla wrap with a little salad, maybe mixed into pasta or rice or even used as an alternative pizza topping.
You should try the Savoury eggs with salad, sweet potato slices done on the BBQ, a dollop of mayo to be naughty, and if you need a bread fix toss a few pittas on the BBQ towards the last 3 minutes of the sweet potato’s time. Try this with the non-vegetarians and I bet they won’t even know any difference. Quorn products are lower fat, healthy alternative foods that should be enjoyed by all.
Recipe for the sweet potato:
Peel and cut into ½ inch slices, toss in a little olive oil, enough to coat don’t go mad, fresh ground black pepper and crushed garlic, then BBQ about 15 minutes per side on a medium setting until soft. Turn occasionally to prevent burning.
Editor’s note: Hi everyone – Ian sampled the new Quorn mini snacks, a great new range from QuornTM which has just hit the shelves. Watch this space as we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the launch of the new products.

Well done - I love the new style scotch eggs, I always open the pack before I get home & scoff some in the car! Happy you have used free range eggs or I may not have bought them to try.
Where are the mini “pork pies” for sale, I haven’t seen them anywhere yet?
