I was woken up on a cold winter’s morn,
By my Mum, she wanted to tell me about Quorn.
She went to the shops at about three,
And back she came with some Quorn for tea.
She said pieces, mince and even in slices,
How could she ever pick which was nicest.
Low in fat, tasty and good for ones health,
Its not expensive, so we dont need great wealth.
Even better it contained no meat,
What a special thing we have found to eat.
With so many recipes ready to make,
Help us decide which option to take.
When you open the packet it may appear fawn,
But trust me a new taste sensation is born.
I take you back to waking on that cold winter’s morn,
I am very glad I was introduced to Quorn!

QUORN GLORIOUS QUORN
Hot sausage and mustard!I can’t help but sing its praises - which is causing much distress to the boyfriend who is not happy when I’ve been at his secret stash of Quorn products. Well, it’s not exactly ’secret’ because as soon as I open the freezer - which is groaning under the weight of all his Quorn goodies - some mouth-watering delicacy will jump out at me and land in my lap. Just like that!
Now, the main reason he is not happy is that he’s a vegetarian and, as he keeps reminding me; I AM NOT. Since when was Quorn eating the exclusive preserve of the vegetarian elite? Apparently, so he tells me, I am depriving him of his staple food supply, which includes: peppered steaks, lamb style grills, garlic herb fillets, turkey style escalopes, not to mention his sausages and bacon style rashers (they’re not just secret - they are SACRED.)
My defence is that I can’t see anything other than Quorn. What’s a hungry girl supposed to do, especially when it’s so quick and easy to cook?
Anyway, tonight, to make amends, I’m going to use his chicken style pieces to make a curry. Quorn is so versatile. MAGIC FOOD I call it - you can infuse or marinade it with spices and herbs and it takes on the flavours of the world, but according to the boyfriend, it’s a case of NOW YOU SEE IT, NOW YOU DON’T!
